Please join us at Camellia GARDEN for an introduction to Noh (with English translation) and Tea Ceremony on July 7th at 1pm.
We are very excited to be welcoming the Noh performer Hiroyuki Matsuno, who is currently preparing for a performance at Kyoto Kanze Kaikan on July 22nd. Mr Matsuno will introduce Noh, and share details of his upcoming performance to provide a deep insight into the pieces being prepared for the Kyoto Kanze Kaikan.
Noh is a classical Japanese musical drama, performed in its current form since the 14th century. Traditionally acted by men only, it is one of the oldest theatre arts still performed today.
Following Mr Matsuno's talk we invite you to enjoy Matcha and sweets in the peaceful surroundings of Camellia GARDEN, an almost century old traditional house just a stone's throw away from the world famous Ryoan-ji.
The price of this event also includes entrance to Mr Matsuno's Noh performance at Kyoto Kanze Kaikan on July 22nd. If you are unable to make that date you may choose another scheduled performance but please note that we cannot guarantee Mr Matsuno will be performing or that the programme will be the same for any alternate dates.
We very much look forward to welcoming you soon.
